Eilean Donan Castle - Scotland

I passed this beautiful castle on my recent trip to the Isle of Skye. I visit here often but rarely see it like this. I like to come in late winter or Autumn when there are few people around. It was nice however to see the sky and the water so blue.

Yes a lovely part of a lovely country. I wonder how many times this castle has been painted? Never seen it from this angle in any painting why not go for it.

One of the paintings I did of this castle I took the photo looking from this angle up the top of the wall. I may paint her again, but please Ralph if you would like to use this photo for a painting, do. :)

What a lovely castle - if you can call a castle, lovely ! The surroundings look beautiful too. I always wondered what the Isle of Skye was like - as I didn't visit that part of Scotland when I was there.

Good morning/evening Alice. Eilean Donan is at Dornie which is a few miles before the Skye Bridge. I go there often yet had never been to Skye. Although my trip to Skye was short, we more of less covered the island and I loved the Cuillins.
You must come back to Scotland and visit Skye ... :)
