"Angus"

I started this watercolour of my cat 'Angus' and decided to stop at this point and make it a WIP. I put it on my Facebook and was delighted to receive an invitation to enter 'Angus' in the National Watercolor Society Exhibition in LA. For various reasons I couldn't take up the offer, but hopefully next year the chance will present itself again!
Was I over the moon at the invite? ... you bet! I have decided to leave 'Angus' in this half painted state. My only drawing had been his two eye sockets ... I have since erased the unpainted one and I think I will frame him as he is!

Lovely piece, Ingrid. Should you finish it? Hmm, not sure really - that's up to you. Just make sure you enter again next year and if it's as good as this it will certainly get some attention :)

Hi Michael ... I have decided to leave this one as it is but will certainly start another. Angus spends a lot of time these days in sleepy poses. Thank you for stopping by and leaving such lovely comments. :)

Hello Ingrid, you go from strength to strength with these animal/wildlife paintings. You certainly deserve this recognition.

Well done on receiving that invitation Ingrid .... that's quite a compliment. It's a shame you couldn't enter this year but maybe next. Great painting. ;-)

Hi BJ .. thank you my friend! :)) I only had a few days to the deadline of the exhibition and the entry fee had to be sent by post. I just didn't have enough time. Next year they are hoping to have PayPal in place, so fingers crossed. :)

Thanks you so much Rolina ... if I were honest I would have to say Angus and I have had a battle of wills since day one, but life without him would be dull and very sad. :)

Hi Ingrid - hope you don't mind me popping in here but I've thoroughly enjoyed looking at all your artwork. You know I love the colours you use and the way you only put enough into a painting to create that wow factor. Too much detail could spoil a masterpiece and you always hit the nail on the head. Well done!!

My lovely Jo ... it's so good to see you here. I am going to set you up a Blog so that everyone can see your beautiful Faeries. If I could only add detail to my paintings and have them look half as good as yours, but I can't ... that's why I have to finish mine half way through! :)) So lovely to see you Jo, please come back. ~X~
